Specialized Programs
For adults with autism, acquired brain injuries and other complex needs, Arizona MENTOR offers Specialized Programs in small group settings, in which the parents and other family members of the individuals we serve play an active role in planning their loved one’s service. Family members participate in monthly group meetings to discuss structured activities and create activity calendars based on their loved ones’ interests and goals.
Navigator and 16th Street
Arizona MENTOR offers two Specialized Programs called Navigator and 16th Street. In these programs, participants enjoy a wide variety of community activities and outings chosen especially for them, from art and music therapy, to learning activities, to family-friendly group outings in the community, such as to sporting events.
Staff in our Specialized Programs also provide structured learning to help individuals progress toward their full potential according to their goals, with specialized training in areas such as:
- Personal safety
- Communication skills
- Positive behavior strategies
- Sensory development
- Independent living skills
