Behavior Modification

Arizona MENTOR offers two Behavior Modification Day Programs called Galaxy and Apollo, designed to help adults with challenging behaviors in addition to intellectual and developmental disabilities develop skills and positive behavior strategies needed to make friends and participate in activities they enjoy.

Galaxy and Apollo

The Galaxy and Apollo Day Programs encourage our participants to take part in a wide range of activities to help them build social skills and develop meaningful connections with their peers and staff.  Individuals receive specialized coaching and support to help them reach their goals and succeed—whatever success means for them.

Depending on the needs and goals of each individual served, programs may also provide specialized training in:

• Alternative behavior strategies
• Personal safety
• Self-advocacy
• Sensory development
• Independent living skills such as meal preparation and personal care

The Galaxy and Apollo locations offer space for group activities such as dance and music, a computer lab, a fully equipped modern kitchen, science center, fine arts room and a private physical fitness area.
